Shane Winden is 34 years old and was born in Germany while his father was stationed
there in the United States Army. He then went on to live in Chicago, Illinois and
Anchorage, Alaska before his father moved them to Montana.

Shane spent most of his late childhood growing up in Montana before enlisting in the
United States Air Force. He spent 5 years in the service and was stationed in
Washington D.C. and Ramstein, Germany.

In 2003, Shane began work with the Billings Police Department as a uniformed patrol
officer. He is a certified instructor for the department as well as a field training officer
for new recruits.

Shane is currently assigned to the downtown district in Billings as a full time bicycle
officer and a liaison to the businesses. It is a community policing program designed to
build partnerships between the police and the business community in a joint effort to
improve the quality of life.

In 2005, Shane met his wife Emily who works as a nurse in the emergency
department. He spends most of his off time in the outdoors with his 2 dogs, cycling,
rafting, kayaking, camping, snowboarding, and scuba diving.
